An Armadillo Eating A Chocolate Biscuit In A Car Park

A sunny day out on Pensinsula Valdes, one of the things to do around Puerto Madryn.

The brochure promised Orcas eating baby sea lions on the beach, so we were a bit miffed to hear they only turn up for dinner at 5am and 5pm - not ideal for a midday tour...

We did see loads of sealions and elephant seals though, playing (the pups) or lounging around (the older ones), moulting and waiting for their new coats to grow in.

There was only one lone penguin (and even that was hiding under a bush), but we did see millions of guanacos and rhea, a fox, a mara (a large rabbit with long legs and short ears), and also the aforementioned armadillo - ironically, the only time we got near anything wild.

Still a good day out though, and we met Adriana on the minibus, an Argentinian woman who told us the difference between salchichas and chorizo, and how to tell people you can't dance the tango.

Some shots around the peninsula...

I´d trade 1000 of these for an Orca.
